With such a heartwarming back story, it's no wonder this video has gone viral.  We first saw it almost two weeks ago and filed it away to post when we returned from vacation. By the time we were back Kristin's story of finding a 914 to replace the one her step dad (Dave) gave up in order to finance the wedding to her mom had gone national.  Now, more than 1,000,000 views later it's still going strong. Porsche's Worldwide Delivery Figures By Region
For month after month we've watched the sales figures in the U.S. and Canada achieve record results. Earlier this month Porsche released their world-wide figures for the month of June and the first half of 2014. Not surprisingly, given that both of Porsche's top two markets (the U.S. and China) have been up month over month, the worldwide figure rose 8% as compared to last year for a total of 87,802 units delivered so far in 2014.

Earlier in the week we saw Jeff Zwart's run up Pikes Peak from his point of view courtesy of our friends over at /DRIVE.  The video in this post came to us by way of the Road Scholars and Michelin (two of the sponsors who made it possible).  Directed by Will Roegge and featuring camera angles we've never seen before on a Pikes Peak run we get to see just how close Jeff is to the edge (and I mean that literally) as he makes his attempt at the summit.  If you're scared of heights then this video may not be for you.

6 Things We Learned Watching Leh Keen In A 1974 911 RSR At Le Mans Classic
Just over a week ago, Leh Keen and Cooper MacNeil stormed to a class victory in their shared 1974 911 RSR during the Le Mans Classic event. Just less than a month after MacNeil teamed with Jeroen Bleekemolen to take a fantastic 5th in class at Le Mans proper, he was back at La Sarthe, and this time brought 'Screamin' Lehman' to hot shoe along side. Leh, as all good racers do, has released a few video laps from his stint at the track.

This year at the New York International Auto Show we not only had time to check out the 918 Spyder in detail, we got to play with some of its accessories, too.  At the time, there was no word on cost of the luggage (at least not publicly) only details about how it fits and how to order.  Well, last week Porsche made more specific information available about the luggage including what colors and configurations it can be ordered in, but still no pricing.  That didn't stop us.  After a little digging we found pricing information for the complete set as well as the two other configurations it can be ordered in.  How much do you think it costs?
Have You Ever Wanted To Know What A Demon Sounds Like?
The noises inside Jeff Zwart's 997 GT3 Cup Turbo hill-climb Porsche give a pretty close approximation, and now you can feel like you are right there with Jeff as he canes the beast up the Pikes Peak hill. The Porsche, a wild and nearly untamable leviathan of power, has all of the traditional transmission howl and engine scream that we're used to with GT3 cup cars, but that whoosh of building boost, and the crashing shriek of the excess compressed air escaping on the overrun are entirely foreign to normal Cup cars. It sounds like hell on wheels, because for all intents and purposes, it is.
