Pictures And Pricing Of The Porsche Boxter GTS And Cayman GTS
By now, you must have heard that Porsche has introduced two new models, the Boxster GTS and the Cayman GTS.  Like other GTS models before them, both the Boxster and Cayman offer additional horse power, various options as standard equipment and visual difference from their non-GTS counterparts.  Read all about them in this post.
Is The Porsche 914 Finally Getting The Respect It Deserves?
As prices rise into the stratoshpere on most air-cooled Porsches, the values of certain other models (914, 924, 944, etc.) have not really kept pace.  In fact, certain models, like the 914 in particular, have been the recipients of constant derision from certain other Porsche owners and automotive media. That's changing. Pricing is on the rise and we're starting to see more and more videos like the one in this post.

Have You Ever Seen A Glockler 914-6? This Example Is Said To Be One of One
How do we define rarity? When it was built, the 914 was the most prolific and the least rare Porsche ever made. More than 200,000 of them made it to market between 1969 and 1976, far eclipsing 911 and 912 sales. A 914, then, could not be called rare, could it? Well, there were certainly some variants of 914 that are very rare indeed.  This Glockler 914-6 is one of them.

Porsche Classic Just Introduced 2 Motor Oils For Air-Cooled Porsches
We've read lots of stories and posts about all the various additives that should be in synthetic oil for air-cooled.  We've also read how certain brands have changed their formulas over the years possibly removing essential additives needed for classic Porsches.  We're by no means experts on oil, but this past week Porsche Classic announced two new oils made specifically for air-cooled Porsches that address many of these concerns.

And The Winner Is: Congratulations To Michael Dougherty!
Thank you to everyone for participating in our most recent contest. Unfortunately, not everyone can win as we only have one book to give away.  This time it was Michael Dougherty's correct answer that was randomly chosen from over 230 correct answers.  Michael, if you're reading this, you have until next Sunday, the 30th of March, to send us an email acknowledging you won and verifying your shipping address (don't forget you can always use our contact form if you have trouble sending the email). In the event there's more than one person with this name we'll verify it's you by matching your email address with the one you used to submit your answer.  If we haven't heard from Michael by the deadline, we'll announce a runner up in next week's newsletter along with our next give away!  If you would still like to get a copy of the book for yourself, Amazon has it available at a great price! (if you do buy a book using this link, please know that it helps to support our site as we get a small commission from the purchase and it doesn't cost you anything additional).
FROM THE ARCHIVES: The Space Shuttle And Commercial Airplanes Use Nitrogen In Their Tires. Should You?

The answer, it would appear, depends on who you ask. You see, Nitrogen is used in the space shuttle and in commercial airliners mostly because it is non-combustible. The likely hood of the tires on your Porsche getting hot enough, during normal driving, to explode is fairly slim . However, there are other reasons to consider Nitrogen.

Video: Introducting The New Boxster GTS

Freedom behind the wheel, that's what Porsche's new Boxster GTS promises. The GTS is an all new experience, and yet a familiar one at the same time. It takes the already fanatically fun-to-drive 981 Boxster platform and kicks it up a couple notches. Falling only a few feet short of taking down the almighty 991 Carrera, the new GTS promises excellent driving dynamics at an excellent dollar to smile ratio.

Scout Could Use Your Positive Thoughts This Week
2014 Porche 991 GT3
We're sorry for the brevity of our newsletter this week.  Normally, we don't usually get very personal in our weekly emails as we like to keep them as "pure" as possible.  However, Scout (our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog) is gravely ill and on his third night in critical care at Angell Memorial. As a result we just haven't been able to focus as much as we would like to.  Scout is a HUGE Porsche fan and along with his sister, Lucy, tests all of the press cars we get to make sure they are appropriate for other Porsche loving dogs.  If not on the beach, or his couch, Scout can usually be found in the back of his Cayenne surveying the road for friends to bark at. Please send your positive thoughts to Scout.  Hopefully, we can bring him home soon. Paula (aka "Pepper Girl").
