Porsche Is Bringing These Insanely Rare Spyders To Amelia Island This Weekend
The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is this coming weekend and while Porsche isn't the featured marque this year, they're still bringing a couple of gems out for you viewing pleasure.  The 917 seen above recently spent some time at the North Carolina Museum of Art as part of the Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed exhibit.  However, the other Porsche being showcased hasn't seen the outside of the Museum in quite some time.  Read all about these two insanely rare Porsches.
This Is How Porsche Made The 918 Spyder Light Weight
The 918 Spyder gains its technical advantage from the strict use of lightweight materials, right down to the smallest detail. With the Weissach Package Porsche's racing engineers have taken even more technical measures to reduce weight even further. Curious how this was achieved? Don't be. Porsche explains it all in the video in this post.

How Does The Porche Macan Compare To The Range Rover Evoque?
Just last week we got to see Autocar Magazine's Steve Sutcliffe toss a Macan Turbo S around the Porsche test track in Leipzig. He even received a reprimand for "drifting" on all season tires. After calling the Macan a "really fast, and really well composed" car we asked if the Macan Turbo isn't more high riding Cayman than junior Cayenne. This week, Sutcliffe is back at it. This time, however, he compares the Macan S Diesel to what is sure to be one of its big competitors, the small and sporty Range Rover Evoque. How did our beloved Porsche do?

By the time you read this email, Porsche's press conference in Geneva will have taken place and the liveries you see in this post should be official.  Just as Porsche announced new lead sponsors on Monday, pictures of the new livery leaked on Twitter and Facebook.  What we're waiting to see is if the cars really do line up to spell out the phrase "Porsche Intelligent Performance" when seen from above like we think they do.  If so, pictures are going to look pretty good if Porsche has a 1,2 finish at Le Mans or any other race. Check out the story and the rest of the pictures.

Should Porsche Build A 3-Door Macan?
There's no doubt the new Porsche Macan will be a success. In fact, reports have already surfaced that Porsche is considering increasing production to meet the unprecedented demand. Now, an "automotive manipulator" (someone who likes to chop cars through digital alterations and renderings) by the name of Theophilus Chin, created his vision of what a 3-door Macan S might look like. Would you buy one?
