Learn More About Porsche's Little Known LMP 2000 Project
In 1998 Porsche was the overall winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Despite that prestigious victory their 911 GT1 was less than competitive in every other race that season. Faced with increasing competition our favorite marque planned a break from racing in 1999 with the intent to return in 2000 with a new and spectacular race car dubbed the LMP 2000.  In this post we take a dive into the detailed history put together by Karl Ludvigsen in Porsche: Excellence Was Expected. Read our post to learn more about one of Porsche's closest kept secrets and how this mothballed race car influenced the Carrera GT.

Magnus Walker's "Southern Charm & Hospitality" Video
Two-Seven-Seven, the red, white, and blue 1971 has almost become as famous as its owner, the dreadlocked and bearded Californian née Brit, Mr. Magnus Walker.  Last October, when Magnus was in Raleigh, NC, for the Porsche By Design event at the North Carolina Museum of Art, eGarage had filmmaker Frazer Spowart follow him around with video cameras for a few days, documenting the trip.
Win A Copy Of Bentley Publisher's Porsche 993 Service Manual
I admit it, I've never really felt that comfortable working on my own Porsches.  However, I've become more comfortable lately with the help of Bentley Publisher's excellent service manuals.  Last fall Bentley released their much anticipated 993 Service Manual and it's everything we've come to expect from them.  Full of pictures, diagrams and useful information I feel more confident doing routine maintenance, and other DIY projects, on my 933.  If you haven't bought a copy yet, we have one to give away. Click here for details on how you can win!

Merdad-Tuned Cayenne Checks Into London Elizabeth Hotel, Doesn't Check Out
I can only assume this tuned Porsche Cayenne was stolen when it crashed into the side of London's Elizabeth Hotel.  After the Cayenne's unexpected "check-in" the driver fled the scene out of what we can only assume is embarrassment or fear of jail time.  Click the picture above, or here, for the full story and more pictures of what happened when the driver of this Cayenne ran out of talent, grip and real estate all at the same time.
