2 Simple Reasons To Attend A Porsche Vintage Racing Event
Porsche vintage racing
Earlier this past summer we visited Mid-Ohio to watch vintage Porsches participate in a number of organized races.  Not only did we take some great photos for you, we came away with a new found interest in vintage racing as a whole.
3 Thing We Learned During The International Sports Car Weekend At COTA
One thing we learned is that no matter how hard you beg, you still cant rent a GT3 Cup from Hertz.  Seriously, if you've ever been to a sports car racing event, you know how fun they can be.  Our trip to COTA was made possible thanks to a generous invitation from Michelin.  When they asked if we wanted to come down to Austin as their guests and watch the ALMS and WEC races, we jumped at the chance.  Read what we learned, view our photos and learn about our next contest where we'll give away some autographed "hero cards".  Click the image above, or here, to read more.
Jeff Zwart Explains What's So Special About The Porsche 911
Jeff Zwart Pikes Peak 911
Jeff began his love affair with the 911 as a teenager learning to drive in his Father's early Porsche 901. Today he's known for setting and breaking records racing 911s through the clouds at Pikes Peak (as well as his brilliant commercials). He refers to the 911 as " a car that ups your game." Petrolicious recently sat down with Jeff as he explained what it is about the Porsche 911 that makes it so special.
Play Porsche's Newest Online Game, "Birthday Roar".
Birthday Roar Game
Porsche uploaded a really cool video this morning featuring all 7 generations of the 911. Inside the video's description was a not so hidden easter egg with a link to their newest online game called "Birtday Roar".
This Is What Happens When You Cross A 928 With A Chevy El Camino
While I like nicely modified Porsches as much as the next person, and even appreciate certain conversions, this particular example simply seems wrong.  Billed by the seller (yup, it's for sale) as a "professionally built cowboy pickup" this 'Porschamino' crosses a '78 928 with the bed of a Chevy El Camino. Click the image above, or here , to learn how much it will cost to make this abomination yours.

Porsche Battles Ferrari and Corvette To Retain MotorTrend Best Driver's Car Title
porsche vs ferrari vs corvette
Just last month we let you know that MotorTrend had named the 991 C4S the 2013 Best Driver's Car champion.  While good news, a lot of people said the test wasn't complete due to a lack of certain competitors. Specifically, the C7 generation Corvette and no entry at all from Ferrari.  Well, MotorTrend has rectified the issue and the following post and video explains the outcome.
Blind Land Speed Record Broken By Mike Newman In A Porsche GT2
What's the fastest you've ever driven your Porsche?  You don't have to answer, just think about it for a minute.  When you reached that high speed, were you scared? Was your heart beating faster?  Mine was.  Now, imagine reaching that speed and beyond.  Only this time you have to wear a blindfold so you can't see anything.  You probably couldn't do it, could you?  Mike Newman (partially blind from birth and now completely blind) drove a Porsche 911 GT2 at 186 mph to break and reclaim the BLIND Land Speed Record.  Click the image above to watch a video of his record breaking run and read more about how he did it in this post.

Porsche Factory Driver Patrick Long To Race In The Baja 1000
Patrick Long has partnered with the Children's Tumor Foundation before but it's always been behind the wheel of a Porsche.  That's all about to change this November 14 - 17 when Patrick joins former Baja 1000 winners Rafael Navarro IV and Vic Bruckman to contest the infamously grueling desert race in the CTF/R4R Pete's Camp Racing SCORE Lites Jimco-VW buggy (man that's a mouthful). Pictures and Results From The GRAND-AM Season And Series Finally At Lime Rock Park
Andy Lally, Magnus Racing
The last race in GRAND-AM history took place this past weekend at Lime Rock Park.  We won't give away how Porsche's customer teams faired, but we're sad to see the series come to and end.  Continue on for Porsche's full race report and pictures from this historical weekend.

Listen As 7 Generations Of 911 Engines Sing Happy Birtday To Each Other
The second I saw this video I knew what Porsche was trying to do.  I just didn't think it would be possible.  However, as you listen to the distinct sounds made by each generation of 911 it's quite clear they each have a distinct tone.  Whoever came up with this concept is to be commended. Similar to the Patrick Dempsey, Patrick Long "Driver Change" video, this too entertains in an unexpected way and will most likely go viral. Click the image above, or here, to watch for yourself.
