Where and When to Watch Porsche in the Grand Prix of Baltimore
Falken Tire Porsche RSR
It's time for round 8 of 11 in the American Le Mans Series and if you're not attending or don't have access to ESPN3, don't worry! You can still watch the race this weekend.
Someone Bought and Installed the World's Largest Outdoor TV from C' SEED and Porsche Design
Porsche C'Seed TV being installed
When we were first introduced to the C' SEED 201 Television by Porsche Design we were blown away.  Then when we learned of a price tag reported to be similar to that of the 918 Spyder we thought, no-one will buy this, it's too expensive.  Apparently, we were wrong!  This past weekend we received a message from a company in Florida who claim to have sold and installed the world's largest LCD television at a private home in Ibiza, Spain.

Is This the Funniest Promotional Video Porsche Has Produced?
Porsche's marketing team puts out a LOT of material. Some good, some not so good and some great.  The video in this post definitely receives a "great" ranking and is one of the funniest we've seen in a while.  It's well known that Porsche is officially returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014.  This video apes the training their drivers go through and just how much they have to share in order to be prepared for the grueling competition.  Featuring Patrick Long and Patrick Dempsey, with a cameo from Joe Foster, this is one promotional video that's definitely worth a watch.  Click the image above or here to laugh along with us.

Monterey Porsche Auction Round-up
Porsche 935 on stage at RM Auctions
We were fortunate enough to spend 3 days in Monterey last weekend and a good portion of that time was spent watching crazy amounts of money get spent on incredible and rare Porsches.  While we couldn't see everything, we did our best to see as much as we could so we could report it here for you.
911 Carrera 4S Named 2013 Motor Trend "Best Driver's Car"
2013 yellow Porsche 911 Carrera 4S on track
For all of the decrying that was done when the 991 was announced ("It's got electric steering, the 911 is dead!"), it has certainly been heaped with praise by the media and the buying public alike.  Last year, the 991 Carrera S won the coveted "Best Driver's Car" title from Motor Trend , and this year, the C4S picked up the same trophy against some stiff competition.

We're Giving Away a Copy of "Memoirs of a Hack Mechanic"
A couple of weeks ago we reviewed one of the newest offering from Bentley Publishers, "Memoirs of a Hack Mechanic".  At first glance, it may not seem like a book for the Porsche enthusiast, but don't let the cover photo fool you, it's worth your time to read.  Bentley was kind enough to supply us with a 2nd copy (it's still shrink-wrapped) so we thought we would give it away to one of our email subscribers (we're not posting this on our site).  If you would like this copy, all you have to do is read our review of the book, and let us know in the comments of that post what your favorite Porsche related book is.  That's it! We're hoping that one of you will recommend a book we don't know about yet and give us something new to read.  We'll randomly select a winner and notify them via next week's newsletter and email.
Project 50 - The Silverstone Classic Race: Video
project 50 porsche with a youtube play button imposed on it
Project 50 started with an idea to race a historic 911 on some of the more famous circuits in Europe. We've been following along as Richard Atwood, Gordon Robertson and Barry Horne tackle track after track. We last showed you their progress as they competed at Brands Hatch . This week, our video below shows their entry during the Silverstone Classic and how they coped with unwelcome weather changes during the race.

Porsche launched one of their two Le Mans 2014 micro-sites back in March. Since then, they've been regularly updating it with pictures, info and videos. We continue to update our post as they add new content and this week is no different.

2016 Porsche Club of America Porsche Parade Venue Announced
Jay Peak Tram
We know, 2016 is a long way away. However, late last week we got word on where the PCA Parade is being held (after we get through 2014 in Monterey and 2015 in French Lick) and we just had to share because it's in one of the more beautiful spots in the country for driving and relaxing.
