Our old friends, in the form of RM Sotheby's and Bonhams, are showing up

It seemed as if there were no more appropriate time for our review of Hurley - From the Beginning to publish than the birthday week of the man himself. Hurley, now seventy years old, held a fifty-year racing career, and shows no signs of slowing down, even today. He's lived an incredibly interesting life, though he's traditionally kept mostly to himself and a lot of people don't know his life's story. Writer Sean Cridland met Haywood in 2011, and was instantly inspired to tell the man's story. After years of working to get the complete tale out of Hurley, the resulting effort is this incredible book.

It doesn't sound like Stefan Bellof's 6:11.13 Nordschleife lap record is going to fall just yet. On May 12th, just before the start of the Nürburgring 24-hour race the 919 Hybrid Evo and 956C will appear together for a display lap. The cars will be driven by Timo Bernhard and Hans-Joachim Stuck
respectively.

SOMEONE CELEBRATED A BIRTHDAY LAST WEEK |

It just so happens that Porsche is preparing to celebrate 70 years of Porsche sports cars next month and Hurley Haywood celebrated his 70th birthday last week. The serendipitous nature of these two events taking place at nearly the same time is too much to ignore. Especially for someone like Hurley who is linked so
inextricably with our favorite brand.

MAN CRASHES CAYENNE INTO PORSCHE DEALERSHIP |

We've all heard this story before, right? Man orders a quarter million dollar Panamera Sport Turismo. Taiwanese Porsche dealer delivers him a car that doesn't have all of the options he ordered. So the man tries to cancel the order if they won't get him the options he ordered. Porsche dealer tells him he will forfeit
his $75,000 deposit if he cancels the order.
