At the end of October, Porsche conducted a private test at the Monza circuit in Italy. This isn't exactly newsworthy in and of itself, as things are likely getting a bit cold in Germany this time of year, so they've moved testing southward closer to the Equator. Porsche took over the famed Italian circuit to put a few cars through their paces, and lucky for us Matt, from the YouTube channel MattyB727 - Car Videos, was there to capture one of them on video with excellent sound and vision. So, here's the million dollar question,

How many classic Porsches have you seen with a seemingly extraneous lock cylinder aft of the driver's door? It's a common sight on 944s and 924s, and occasionally crops up on other models. These archaic anti-theft systems are often broken, and are easily defeated. Indeed, the 944 system can be defeated without tools. Thankfully, Porsche is continuing to look out for the security of classic models.

The 991.2 Turbo S is a mega machine, potentially the only Grand Touring Supercar in the world. With a sub-3 second zero to 60 time and a top speed over 200 miles per hour, it smashes basically anything from Ferrari or Lamborghini or McLaren. Recently, Matt Farah spent some time behind the wheel of the new Turbo S and proclaimed, "I love this car so much!"

This is Porsche's seventh annual Sound Nacht, and every year the event gets more and more interesting. Porsche roll out excellent examples of their motorsport and road car history to play an auditory experience for the gathered crowds. Hosted at the Porsche museum, across the street from the factory, Sound Nacht plays host to hundreds who gather to see eleven unique Porsches, including the new GT2 RS, blast their unique exhaust notes into a microphone.​​​​​​​

Matt Farah's love for Porsches is well-documented, and seldom does he pass up an opportunity to try out a new model—especially when track driving is involved. He's a hard working guy who's made his own luck, and on this particular occasion he's fortunate enough to sample Road Atlanta in an astonishingly quick, composed, and luxurious 991.1 Turbo S. Best of all—it's modified.

This odd-looking mid-70s 911 Turbo is a unique piece of RennSport heritage. Commissioned for long-time Porsche driver, company supporter, and friend of past Porsche CEO Ernst Fuhrmann, maestro Herbert von Karajan it was built as one of the first Porsches from the newly created Special Wishes department. 

For fans of ludicrously-powerful Porsches on the hillclimb, Herbert Pregartner is likely a familiar name. The man has campaigned some of the wildest 911-based monsters on Austrian, German, and Swiss hillclimbs for decades now. With no intention of stopping, a small fortune reserved for racing, and a competitive nature, it seems he's intent on pushing the limits.

The tall talent from Georgia is at it once again, and this time he's behind the wheel of a Kremer 935 K3, which spits out a staggering 800 horses in archetypically-turbocharged fashion. Leh Keen is a master of manhandling the rear-engined racing car and is no stranger to opposite lock or minimizing understeer.

When you add up Singer plus Williams and Mezger the engine produced is definitely greater than the sum of its parts. In fact, this latest iteration of air-cooled goodness makes 9,000 RPMs with the help of 24 valves.
