I know what this website is called, yet I admit my bias in favor of Porsche's classic flat-four models. I love the 356.  These were the first classics to really capture my imagination.

Six minutes and forty seven point three seconds (6:47.3). That's the record crushing time Porsche's new GT2 RS recorded as it lapped the Nurburgring Nordschleife. For those counting, that's nearly five (5) full seconds faster than the previous record held by Lamborghini's Huracán Performante (not to mention more than 5-seconds faster than the 918). 

Occasionally, you have to pinch yourself and recall that, not long ago, thoroughbred racing cars struggled to match the kind of stats seen on the spec sheets of today's road-going sports cars.

The 918, with its combination of street appeal and otherworldly performance, has predictably ratcheted up its selling price in the last few years.

For those who don't appreciate the precision, unfathomable shift speed, and ease of PDK, there is the prohibitively expensive option of swapping a 911R gearbox into a 991 GT3 RS. Rob Janev wrote a check and did just that.
