Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge driver Jake Eidson just finished a very exciting weekend encompassing Rounds 8, 9 and 10 of the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama. Unfortunately, a massive pileup at his previous event at Watkins Glen caused that race to be postponed, so he had three races at Road America this weekend instead of two. Jake tells us this made the weekend very long, and at times it was extremely stressful with a mix of wet and dry track conditions. However, with the additional races and mixed conditions, he became very accustomed to the track and there were a few corners that he especially enjoyed.

The Flüela, Albula and Maloja passes. The Splügen, San Bernardino, Lukmanier and Oberalp passes. These are but a few of the world's most famous Alpine passes that a group of nineteen 918 Spyders crossed on their 5-day, 1500 km journey from the Swiss Canton of Graubünden to Monaco and Nice on the French Riviera.​​​​​​​

When you go from billionaire to broke overnight, it usually means you're having a pretty bad day. You would think things couldn't get worse, but you'd be wrong. Just ask former billionaire Eike Batista, once Brazil's richest man. In 2013, after his EBX conglomerate fell apart and his oil firm OGX filed for Latin America's largest bankruptcy, Flavio Roberto de Souza, the judge presiding over some of the charges against Batista, ordered a number of Batista's assets seized, including a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. To add insult to injury, the Judge was then spotted driving the Cayenne he himself ordered confiscated.​​​​​​​

At this point, the newest version of Porsche's venerable 911 GT3, the 991.2 version, has been reviewed ad nauseam by all the usual suspects. We know it has 493 HP making it capable of a top speed of 198 MPH and only takes 7.3 seconds to reach 100 MPH from a standstill. Despite all that, what we haven't seen is Chris Harris sliding one around his track of choice as he talks through his review as if he were out for a Sunday drive.

The Porsche 911 is a true design icon and an exclusive celebration for it took place on August 8, 2017 at the New York Museum of Contemporary Art. This invitation-only event was open to local Porsche dealers, certain members of the PCA, journalists and Porsche collectors.
