Project 944 GTS is a more performance oriented take on the 944S, but without taking the full plunge into hardcore, GT3-style territory. The suspension will be upgraded and the powertrain tweaked as we look to improve roadholding performance and make the Porsche more useable without sacrificing performance.

Two weeks ago, in anticipation of the upcoming world debut of the 2018 Cayenne, Porsche shared with us how they torture tested the 3rd generation SUV as part of the testing process. Then, last week we were enticed with a design sketch and news that the premier would be shown live via the web.  Now comes what are purported to be pictures of the new Cayenne leaked well in advance of the debut. Are they real?

Ordinarily I don’t think of myself as being a particularly unique individual. In fact, I consider my personality to be rather reserved – loitering in the shadows more or less. Purchasing a Cayman (my first Porsche), was certainly a departure from this trait. Two years ago, I traded my 2009 Cayman for a 2016 Macan S, and just last month I flipped the Macan for another Cayman. This time of the 718 variety. 

Prepping for their future wave of EV vehicles, Porsche recently put the first of their 350-kW DC-CS combination chargers into use last month. With the vision of dotting the European landscape—and presumably the American landscape—with thousands of stations using their rapid-charge technology, they filed an application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office earlier last year which might prove seminal. After inspecting the application, it seems Porsche's en route to creating a charging system that's reliable, efficient, and conducive to building a larger network.

It's no surprise that Porsche's 3rd generation Cayenne is on the way. In fact, it was just two weeks ago that Porsche showed us how they perform torture tests on the SUV all over the world. Then, last week, pictures supposedly showing us details on the new Cayenne leaked. Now comes word that its debut, scheduled for August 29th, will be broadcast live.
