Project 944 GTS update
The joys of owning an old car, particularly one with a large number of power features, are often tempered with frustration. In many ways, it can be hard to avoid the fact that Project 944 GTS is 30 years old. Though the car is tight, and well screwed together, many things that you touch and interact with day to day really show their age. Plastics degrade, leather and rubber that was once supple hardens, and some features become just plain inadequate. This update isn't focused on making Project 944 GTS faster, but it does center on making it nicer to live with.

OUR FAVORITE PORSCHES ON EBAY: VOLUME 90

FUTURE BARN FINDS
We've been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we've seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. This week's mix should have a little something for everyone. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE MANUFACTURING OF THE 911 TURBO S EXCLUSIVE SERIES

911Exclusive manufacturing video
In early June Porsche introduced us to their most powerful 911 Turbo S yet, the 2018 Exclusive Series Coupe. Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the Turbo S exclusive series makes 607 horsepower and 553 lb. -ft of torque. With that kind of power, great care needs to be given to its manufacturing, quality assurance and testing. This nearly hour-long video gives us a behind-the-scenes look at what the production process of this limited edition turbo is like. Everything from painting to the laser burn process on the wheel and laser alignment test on the hood is explored.

PORSCHE DESIGN BOOK ONE

Porsche Design Book One
"Good design exists only in conjunction with good engineering." That quote, by "Butzi" Porsche himself, is how Porsche Design has chosen to introduce their first foray into modern laptop computing. On the surface, the Design Book One is a very handsome piece of hardware. Porsche being Porsche, however, we can fully expect the beauty to be much more than skin deep.

PORSCHE, LEGO, IF YOU'RE LISTENING, WE NEED BOTH OF THESE 919 HYBRIDS

Porsche N spec tire image
Unlike the 911 GT3 RS, LEGO Techic doesn't make a kit for the 919 Hybrid. That little fact didn't stop Portuguese builder Manuel Nascimento from designing and creating his own.  Two of them actually. Both the 2015 and 2016 versions. Even better, he did it with no custom pieces.

JACKY ICKX EXPLAINS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO DRIVE PORSCHE'S LEGENDARY 936 AND 956 RACE CARS

Jacky Ickx
What's it like to drive a 936 or 956 on the track? Unless you've done it, it's impossible to explain. Who better than Porsche Motorsport icon Jacky Ickx. Filmed during the "Porsche Experience Day 2017" at Fuji Speedway, Ickx is easily one of the most accomplished race car drivers in recent history. His achievements include victories in everything from Formula 1 to the Paris Dakar Ralley to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In fact, four of his six Le Mans wins came while at the wheel of a Porsche (both 936s and a 956).

PORSCHE INSTALLS FIRST 350 -KW CHARGING STATION FOR MISSION E AHEAD OF LAUNCH

WATKIN'S GLEN CRASH
Shortly after Porsche's Mission E was given the green light for production, we learned of a futuristic solar pylon under construction at the company's new Berlin office. At 25 meters high, and looking like something straight off the pages of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Porsche's photovoltaic monolith pylon conspicuously highlights Porsche's tireless progression toward the future.
