Porsche only offered its latest 911 GT3 RS with a PDK dual-clutch transmission, but the company developed a six-speed manual gearbox that works with RS's 4.0-liter flat-six for the 911 R and the current GT3. Now, Florida Porsche shop and race team BGB Motorsports says it's the first company in the world to swap a 911 GT3 RS' PDK for the six-speed from the R.  

‘It’s for adults. It’s not a Max Verstappen car, it’s a Mark Webber car.’ This is how Frank Walliser, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport and GT cars, describes the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The most powerful 911 road car to date, the GT2 RS has been Mr. Porsche GT himself, Andreas Preuninger’s project but it’s Walliser who’s in overall charge.

For the last few years, when people asked Doug DeMuro which Porsche to buy, he's been very clear: Get a 996 Turbo. That would be the turbocharged version of the Porsche 911 that was made from 1999 to 2005 (although the Turbo model itself started production in 2001). Get a 996 Turbo. Get a 996 Turbo. He tells this to everyone. It's been his battle cry.

Capitalism, a bankrupt economic ideology which rests on the notion that the outright theft of the product of others’ labor is morally right and just, has produced a car company called Porsche, which makes cars primarily for those who benefit most from that ideology. The video should help make up for a much chided previous attempt. During its debut at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the 911 GT2 RS tried the feat, but ended up making a half circle and awkwardly backing up and continuing on the pathway. As a result, it received quite a bit of booing from the audience. In a video posted by Youtuber Munch997, the GT2 RS puts any concerns to rest by delivering some real donuts.

Air-cooled Porsche 911s are tricky to drive quickly, and even the most modern of them all, the 993, is a challenge. These cars require patience, deliberate inputs, and respect for their significant rear-wheel weight bias. YouTuber Showdown911 just put on a masterclass driving a 993 at the tricky Nurburgring, keeping up with the more modern, track-ready Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

Mark Webber was forced to admit it [the 911 GT2 RS] is a wonderful brute that requires a masterful hand to keep things gathered up and pointed in the right direction — on the back straight at the Nürburgring, he pulled a cool 336 km/h, producing a significant “pucker factor,” according to Webber.
