Last week we introduced you to our Instagram account while showing the images above from the man who spoofed Beyoncé's pregnancy photo shoot. This week, we want to introduce you to the Porsche enthusiast posing in the picture. We tracked him down to get the full story on his now viral stunt, his 914 and some behind-the-scenes photos and info.

The upswing in the Porsche market shows no sign of stopping. While the upward curve is not as accelerated as it once was, the general upward trend continues. Less universally-loved Porsches are beginning to feel some of the 911's momentum in the classic car market. This year at Amelia Island there are more than 100 Porsches offered, ranging from a 1987 924S all the way to a 1998 911 GT1 Strassenversion.

Innovation moves faster in competition. Both Porsche and Michelin have been involved in competition from nearly the very beginning. Michelin was founded in 1889, and by 1891 they were racing. The first Porsche 356 hit the road in June of 1948, and went racing almost immediately after. Porsche and Michelin first partnered up, officially, in 1961. Porsche chose to honor their long-term partners earlier this week with a short video celebrating their long cooperation.

PORSCHE EXPANDS FACTORY GT ROSTER WITH ADDITION OF FERRARI'S GIANMARIA BRUNI

Earlier this week, in a press release with little information, Porsche announced they have "bolstered" their GT factory squad with the signing of Gianmaria Bruni. Bruni, one of the most successful and experienced sports car drivers, comes to Porsche by way of Ferrari.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE 356: ORIGINS

1945 Porsche 356 Gmund
After the Second World War there were more automakers than there are today. From Abarth to Zundapp, the automotive marketplace was a crowded and often bizarre place. Each segment offered a wide range of vehicles, with a range of shapes and build quality that would baffle a modern buyer. In order to keep the company moving forward, through difficult times, Ferry Porsche (Ferdinand's son) sought to enter the sports car market with a car based on the bones of the humble Volkswagen. While these early 356s gave Porsche an unjustified reputation for building upmarket Volkswagens, what they truly did was begin a decades-long pursuit of performance. This is the first in a multi-part series about the history of the Porsche 356.

PROJECT BOXSTER CLUBSPORT: PART 19 ADJUSTABLE TOE CONTROL ARMS

adjustable toe control arms for boxster
In our last Project Boxster Clubsport post we installed H&R springs. What we didn't mention at the time is that we somehow managed to strip both rear toe control arm nuts. Which, in-turn, ruined the threads on the control arm stud. Looks like it's time to install some quality machined adjustable arms.

FORMER BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON'S 928 FOR SALE

This March, as part of Omega Auctions annual Beatles auction, a Porsche 928 once owned by guitarist George Harrison will come up for sale. Purchased new by Harrison in 1980, he went on to drive the black 928 for three to four years before selling it onward. What happened to it then is anyone's guess, but it resurfaced a number of years ago when Raj Sedha bought it in 2003.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: PORSCHE STYLE

I hope I'm not the only one who remembers the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. The plots were often clunky, and the variable endings provided more routes to failure than the Oregon Trail computer game. The books were fun, and encouraged the reader to think about their choices carefully to achieve the best outcome. Porsche has taken a similar route with its latest series of videos

PORSCHE 964 RAT ROD
Some will call it an abomination, others will want to kill it with fire, while still others will look at it longingly and wonder how they can get their hands on one.

Pictures of this particular Porsche "rat rod" started making the rounds on Facebook this past weekend. It took us some time to track it down, but track it down we did.
