10 Best Selling Porsche Books for 2016

Every year publishers and authors send us Porsche book after Porsche book for us to review. We do our best to read and review as many as possible, but we simply can't get to all of them. However, what we can do, is take a look through our Amazon order reports to see which of the books we did mention (here on the site or on our social channels) were of the most interest to you based on the number of orders. Here's a list of the 10 Porsche related books that were ordered the most by readers of FLATSIXES.com.

Meet Tom Roos, Porsche's "Suburban in-Law"
PCA member and Filmmaker Todd Taylor had this to say about Roos, "If Magnus Walker is the Urban Outlaw of Porsches, then Tom Roos is the Suburban In-law of the marque -- less outrageous on the outside but every bit as passionate on the inside about his ever-rotating garage of vintage Porsches.Learn more about Tom and his collection in this short film

Win a 2017 Porsche Calendar and Limited Edition 1:43 Scale Mission E Model Car from Driver's Selection
Our 2017 'Uncovered' Porsche calendar just arrived courtesy of our friends at Porsche Driver's Selection. We have it hanging in the FLATSIXES.com offices. What I like most about this year's Porsche calendar are the monthly images. Each one appears to have been shot in Porsche's "Secret Warehouse" and features not only a current model, but some very rare production models, prototypes and race cars from the past and present.

Along with our calendar, Driver's Selection sent along a 1:43 scale model of the Mission E Concept (it's one of a 500 piece limited edition set that can only be purchased at a Driver's Selection shop and not online). More importantly for you, Driver's Selection offered us a second Porsche Calendar and Mission E scale model car to give away to one of our readers! Read this post for instruction on how you can enter to win both the calendar and the 1:43 scale model of the Mission E Concept.

Ever Wonder How Porsche Got Those Perfect Shots of the 2017 911 RSR?
Have you seen the pictures of the all new mid-engine Porsche 911 RSR? Each one looks like a work of art, right? Think they were created by a computer? Think again! Sure, each shot went through lots of post processing, but each one was captured "in real life" by photographer Frank Kayser during an intensive photo shoot in Spain. Watch as Frank straps himself to the front of a tuned Audi S6 Bi-Turbo pushing 580 hp to capture those perfect shots.

Porsche and Leica, A Love Affair
Bart Kuykens is a photographer, author and Porsche driver. His most recent work "A Flat 6 Love Affair" is a hefty tome filled with beautifully composed black & white shots that capture his love for our favorite marque in a way that only the truly afflicted and gifted can.   The short film in this post, narrated by Jeff Zwart, introduces us to Bart's affliction and gives you but a small taste of what you will find in his book. The Last Turn - The Storm Before The Calm
Photographer and FLATSIXES.com contributor, Leonard Turner, takes a look back into the past at Porsche's back to back Le Mans victories in in 1996 and 1997. How did a car, the LMP1 98, that was designed years earlier and never raced, come to win the race to end all races not once, but twice? Leonard explains in this installment of The Last Turn

Hunziker Casual Driving Shoes Reviewed & Discount Code

By this point, you’ve likely heard all about the new line of sport driving shoes available from Hunziker Design. We were fortunate enough to have a pair sent our way specifically for review.  FLATSIXES.com contributor Bradley Brownell is particularly hard on shoes, so he got the job of wearing them to provide feedback on their daily-usability as well as their fitness for the purpose of driving spiritedly. Of the seven styles of shoe offered, we chose the Brown and Cream Steve McQueen homage shoes (because they're brown, of course). As an added bonus, Hunziker is offering all our readers a 15% discount on any shoes ordered.  Review and discount details are in this post

Meet Porsche's Newest Factory Driver

Sonic Tools Announces Country Wide Partnership with Porsche Cars Canada
We first introduced you to SONIC Tools last year around this time. SONIC had recently been named the official tool supplier to IMSA and we featured one of their torque wrenches on our 2015 Holiday Gift Guide. A few months later, SONIC came back to us and asked if there were any additions to their catalog we thought Porsche owners need? We suggested a complete kit of 10mm sockets (there seem to be more 10mm uses on a Porsche than anything else). SONIC listened and built the rail and we've been hooked ever since. That's why we're excited about today's announcement that SONIC is expanding their relationship with Porsche in an official manner. Porsche Makes Surprise Announcement About Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas
Despite having just won the FIA World Endurance Drivers' Championship, neither Romain Dumas or Marc Lieb will return as part of Porsche's LMP1 program next year. In an announcement on Friday, Porsche said, "From the end of the season, Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb leave the LMP1-Team and their seats in the over 900 hp 919 Hybrid Le Mans prototypes to begin new tasks at Porsche." In other words, they remain under contract to Porsche, but in different roles. Here's what we know so far.

Poorly Parked Porsche Gets Bombed Not Booted
Be careful where you park in Paris, or you'll find that the dreaded "boot" is the merciful option. In a moment of poor judgement, a Parisian man parked his Porsche in an area clearly marked as no parking before heading to the night clubs. After a long night of partying he wisely chose to take a cab home vs. risk a DUI.  Upon arriving at home the Porsche's owner was contact by French authorities to discuss his illegal parking.  Apparently, they found it so suspicious that the bomb squad was brought in. You can probably guess what happens next.
