We Got To Test The Porsche 911 Soundbar. This is what it Sounds Like

By now you've probably seen or heard of the Porsche 911 Soundbar. It's manufactured from a genuine muffler found on the 911 GT3.  As much a sculpture as a speaker, the soundbar is as impressive to look at as it is to listen to. With its significant price tag we were curious to hear if Porsche's soundbar could perform as you would expect or would it turn out to be an overpriced option for the Porsche obsessed?  So when Porsche design offered to send us one to review we jumped at the chance. Here's what it sounds like and what we learned.

Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 75
We've been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we've seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. This week, thanks to some inspiration from SEMA, we focused on slant-nose 911s (the good, the bad and the ugly) another kit car we can't quite figure out and a very clean 914 we just couldn't pass up. Keep in mind, some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

993 Powered VW Bus Will Warp Your Sense of Reality
YouTube user 19Bozzy92 first saw the Porsche Powered T1 VW bus you see above during a charity event at Monza. Fortunately, for us, he was able to speak with the owner and shoot video of it on the track hanging with supercars all while it ferried passengers around at warp speed. Watch this "bus" appear to defy the laws of physics.

Porsche's Results, Pictures and Video in the WEC at Shanghai
We won't spoil it for you here if you're waiting to watch on DVR. However, once you click through you'll immediately know how Porsche performed and where they are in the standings with just one race remaining in the season.  Results, pictures, video and Porsche's race report in this post.

Retro-Mod 997 Slant-Nose Converts Us To Flachbau Fans

Every year it seems like the number of Porsches appearing at SEMA grows exponentially. This year you couldn't walk two feet without running into an RWB Porsche, one of Magnus' 911s, or even Magnus himself. However, there was one Porsche in particular that stood out from the rest, a 2008 with a retro-modern slant nose body kit from Old & New.  Details and pictures in this post.

What to Buy: Porche 911 R or Carrera GT?
Porsche Carrera GT vs Porsche 911 R. It's not a comparison you would think to normally make. They're two completely different cars. Porsche's last true analog super car with a V-10 engine and no "nannies" vs. what may be one of their last normally aspirated flat-six engines in a lightweight, no frills 911 shell. However, with 911 Rs now trading at auction in the same price range as low-mileage CGT, it's a comparison that has some merits. So, which would you buy?

Magnus Walker Makes A Switch to Datsun in "Furious Outlaw"
This site may be dedicated to Porsche, but that doesn't mean we don't appreciate other marques. Take the 1973 Datsun 240Z owned by Sung Kang (the actor who plays Han in the Fast and Furious franchise) featured in this video with Magnus Walker and 277. Kang's build, now known as 'FuguZ' puts an RWB like spin on an iconic Japanese sports car and adds some serious mechanical improvements under the hood and to the chassis to back it up. In fact, we've been following the the FuguZ build for sometime now and got super excited when we heard that Magnus would be swapping cars with Sung for this video. Watch it yourself and see how cool Kang's Datsun build really is

Guy Uses 911 As Dune Buggy. Does Amazingly Well!
If only we had a true build-sheet for this car. The original YouTube posting described this Porsche as stock. Closer inspection, however, reveals that the 911 has been lifted slightly, the door panels removed and a roll hoop fitted. In any case, this Porsche looks much less modified than Leh Keen's Safari 911s. While the 911's versatility is a large part of its appeal, Dune Buggy is likely not on most people's list of potential uses.
