One Year With Michelin's Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires: A Long-Term Real-World Review

It's been nearly a year since we outfitted our Project Porsche with a full set of Pilot Sport Cup 2s. In that time we've covered nearly 10,000 miles. Today's post covers not only why we chose the Pilot Sport Cup 2, but also provides feedback on what it's like to live and drive with these tires in the real world. Read on to learn what we've experienced

Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 73
We've been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for over two years now, and we've seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. This week we have a good diversity of selections including my personal favorite Porsche, a rare and capable 997, a similar 993, a weirdo 914, and an interesting Paint-to-Sample 991 Targa. Keep in mind, some of these Porsches could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

Is This Porsche's Mid-Engined 911 RSR?
Porsche was testing their 911 GTE replacement this week at Sebring.  And while they may not want to share that test with the public, the folks over at "Fans of the 12 Hours" were on hand to capture this very clear video of the new RSR.  There are lots of rumors on the web that the new race car may be mid-engined or even turbo-charged.  Fortunately, this video is pretty clear, with great sound so you can decide for yourself if the rumors are true

A Father, a Son and the Porsche They Went In On Together

According to the New York Times' James Schembari, "Buying a new car is special. Buying a new sports car is very, very special. Buying a new sports car together with your adult son and then driving on a racetrack is an experience that lacks enough adjectives." Fortunately for us James found the adjectives and relays his story in this article about splitting the lease on a new Cayman with his son, Sam, and taking delivery at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta.

Acura NSX vs. Audi R8 V10 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo

Acura and Audi both brought their A-game to this test by AutoExpress, but Porsche didn't even bother to send their top dog, the Turbo S. Watch this video to see how that turns out.

How I Nearly Died Racing my Vintage Porsche 911 at La Carrera Panamericana

Last week, over on TheDrive.com, Don Yount recalled his story of walking away from a horrific crash during this year's La Carrera Panamericana. For those not familiar with the race it covers 2,000 miles of back road and city streets throughout Mexico. For Don, running this historic race was on his "bucket list" and he purchased a '68 911 to compete.  The first stage of the race went off without a hitch, but what happened on day two wasn't on anyone's bucket list

Porsche 924 DP Cargo

The DP Cargo was developed in the mid-80's by Eikkehard Zimmerman and according to DP's website was "an immediate success". Since then, DP has converted a limited number of different transaxle Porsches into their version of a shooting brake. What we're most used to seeing is a Porsche 944 Station Wagon known as the DP44. The Porsche station wagon we found for sale today is, however, based on a 924.

Exempt From The Congestion Charge: The 919 and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Take London
Porsche is very excited about the new Panamera E-Hybrid, and who can blame them? Hot on the heels of a Le Mans victory with a hybrid racecar, Porsche will have the hottest hybrid sedan on the market. To showcase the new model Porsche took the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid to London along with a very special escort: The 919 Hybrid driven by Mark Webber. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is classified as an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle, and is therefore exempt from the city's congestion charge. We suspect the 919 got a pass for the day, too. Watch and enjoy!

10 Treasures From Porsche's Not So "Secret Warehouse"
Anyone that's been to the Porsche Museum knows that exhibits and displays change frequently. For years we only speculated on where Porsche hid these treasures of the marque's history. In fact, it wasn't until 2012 that Porsche officially acknowledged the existence of a "Secret Museum Warehouse". Last week, Porsche posted a new look inside the warehouse with a number of new images.  Take a look at them in this post and let us know which one interests you the most. Based on your feedback, we'll work on getting more info for you in the form of a new post. Our vote goes for the 356 powered motorcycle!
