This is How a Safari 911 is Meant to be Driven
In the video above we get to watch as LuftAuto's new owner, Eli Kogan, takes his new toy out for a day of hard driving on small town, rural roads somewhere in Colorado. I especially enjoyed watching how this well built 911 seamlessly transitions from everyday paved roads to drift inducing gravel and hardpack. I know I wouldn't do this in our 993, but it makes me want a Safari style 911 that much more. Watch the video here.

The Peerless Porsche 2016 Monterey Auction Preview
There's no doubt the Porsche market has slowed a bit when it comes to auction pricing.  However, it still remains to be seen if that slow down is a result of cooler heads, and pricing, taking over. Or, have prices been weaker because the offerings haven't been the best they could be?  We'll know soon enough as there are enough top quality collector cars for sale in Monterey that should bring strong, if not record pricing, assuming the money and desire is in the room. Here's a look at each Porsche at auction this year on the Peninsula

Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 60
We've been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for almost two years now, and we've seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. In all that time, we've published these every other week. Well, enough of you have spoken up that we're going to try a weekly format, with two of us picking selections, so check back often. This week, we've assembled five more Porsches for you to peruse, including two interesting clones from different generations, a 996 Turbo Cab in a color other than silver, an impossibly low mileage 914 and a Boxster Spyder that could be a bargain. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

A Closer Look At the 2 Ways the 919 Hybrid System Will Make Energy on the Nürburgring.
Porsche's 919 LMP1 Hybrid collects energy in two ways: through its regenerative braking system and via a turbine in the exhaust system.  Here's a quick look at how those systems operate on a track like the Nürburgring.

The Last Turn - Vic Elford - A Quiet Study
All super successful racing drivers have a similar list of qualifications: technical skill, aggressiveness, a strong will to win, experience, judgment, course reading and memory, and the magic sauce of something in their genetic code. Elford has an important, although nonessential additional quality: he looks like a racing driver. Chiseled features, strong jaw, burning eyes, and a serious demeanor: a wonderful photographic subject. The picture and story in this episode of The Last Turn is a great example.

What's The Strangest Thing You've Done With Your Porsche? These Guys Used A Cayenne as a "Slip 'N Slide"!
We've seen 911s climb sand dunes, 993s used as RVs, 996s used as shooting platforms and just about everything else in between. However, this is the first time we've ever seen someone use a Porsche as a make shift "Slip 'N Slide."  Watch these guys get enjoyment from their Cayenne in a way Porsche never intended and then let us know the strangest things you've ever done in your Porsche.
What Does The 919's Hybrid Technology Mean For Future Road Cars?
The current breed of hybrid LMP1 cars are the most technically advanced racecars built to date. The Porsche 919 incorporates a wide variety of technologies to improve both power and efficiency. The 919's small displacement V4 engine and high-discharge batteries are among the most sophisticated of their type, and give the 919 a whopping 900 horsepower combined. Endurance racing is Porsche's test of durability and the viability of new technology for production. What then do these endurance racers mean to the future of Porsche road cars? We answer that question in this post

Tuthill Porsche's Full Length Safari Documentary Is A Must Watch.
For years we've been teased with short clips from Tuthill's time at the East African Safari Classic Rally, but now they've finally unveiled the full video. We won't belabor the point that it took them over three years to actually release the film, because it is beautifully shot, wonderfully edited, and contains some of our favorite Porsches being driven to the limit (and sometimes beyond). And more to the point, the real stars of the video are legendary rally aces Bjorn Waldegaard and Stig Blomqvist. Watch it here

Besides Spike's Emmy Award winning wit on constant display we get a deep and entertaining look into the decision making process of purchasing a new car (and usually from folks with a healthy budget).  This week's episode features Jerry Seinfeld, the Porsches he sold at Amelia Island and Spike's attempt to match his friend Paul with Jerry's Ex-IROC 911 Carerra RSR during the auction. Here are more details on the episode including when and how to watch

Porsche Stories From Around The Web
Despite our best efforts, it's not always possible for us to cover everything that's happening in the world of Porsche at any given time. It's almost as if the items worthy of note increase at some exponential rate as compared to the number of new Porsche owners and fans.  With that in mind here's a round-up of other Porsche related stories you might find of interest.  If you read a story somewhere, or know of one you think might be of interest to our readers, please be sure to let us know by sending a tip to storyideas@flatsixes.com
