Creating Porsche Exhaust Notes: They Have To Rock!
The sound of a Porsche is distinct from most other sports cars.  It's more of a howl than a scream with variations in pitch and tone depending on which model you're listening to. Is that sound a simple byproduct of whichever engine configuration is in the Porsche at hand or is there more to it?  As it turns out, there's a team of engineers and scientists who put as much effort into designing a Porsche's exhaust sound as Michael Mauer's team does in designing the look and shape of a new model. In this post we take a closer look at these sound engineers and how their job has become much more involved with the addition of turbos to many of Porsche's new engines.

Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 59
We've been compiling some amazing Porsche models on eBay for almost two years now, and we've seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. In all that time, we've published these every other week. Well, enough of you have spoken up that we're going to try a weekly format, with two of us picking selections, so check back often. This week, we've assembled five more Porsches for you to peruse. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

As Porsche sales continue to grow in Canada, so does the demand for service on Porsche models 10-years or older (how Porsche defines a classic).  With that in mind, the first Certified Porsche Classic Partner was just opened making it the 4th of its kind in North America and the 39th globally.  Details in this post

Project Boxster Clubsport: Part 16 - Installing Stiffer Sway Bars
We've been wrenching on "Project Boxster Clubsport" for quite a while now, and it just keeps getting better. We purchased the Porsche for a song, and have been slowly making some moves to drop the car's weight and add a little more fun. So far, we're really happy with what the Boxster has become, even though the motion of the project has been halted and restarted in new directions a couple of times now. It's an excellent Porsche, and we aim to make it just a little bit more excellent with each improvement. In this month's installment we upgrade our suspension with larger and stiffer front and rear sway bars.  Here's what we changed and a step-by-step guide for how we did it.

Porsche 918 Spyder Recalled Out of "An Abundance of Caution"
When you're dealing with an 887 hp supercar capable of speeds close to 210 mph, safety is paramount.  That's why, "out of an abundance of caution", Porsche chose to issue their third voluntary recall for all 918 Spyders.  Details in this post.

Leh Keen Gives Us A Video Tour of his GT3 R Steering Wheel
If you think the steering wheel on a modern Porsche is complicated, wait until you get a look at all the buttons and controls found on the wheel of a modern Porsche 911 GT3 R race car.  While not quite as complex as the 919 LMP1 steering wheel we showed you earlier this year, it definitely has a few more functions than your average 911.

Check Out This Long Tail 918 Spyder Creation
What do you get when you combine today's technology and design of the 918 Spyder and 919 LML1 Hybrid with yesterday's long-tail look of the 908 and 917 era? This 908-04 concept is from a team of six designers who wanted to build a car that would give you goose bumps just by imagining driving it.  We think they succeeded.

Porsche Stories From Around The Web
Despite our best efforts, it's not always possible for us to cover everything that's happening in the world of Porsche at any given time. It's almost as if the items worthy of note increase at some exponential rate as compared to the number of new Porsche owners and fans.  With that in mind, from time to time, we'll bring you a round-up of other Porsche related stories you might find of interest and link you to them.  If you read a story somewhere, or know of one you think might be of interest to our readers, please be sure to let us know by sending us a tip to storyideas@flatsixes.com
