A Porsche Fan's Guide To The 24 Hours of Le Mans
Porsche is defending their title at Le Mans this year with a total of four factory backed cars (2 LMP1 cars and 2 LMGTE-Pro cars) as well as five customer 911 RSR entries.  Who's driving what car? What's Porsche's strategy? Who's their competition? How can you watch the race? We answer all those questions and more in our Fan's Guide to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume 54
We've been compiling the best Porsche models on eBay for almost two years now, and we've seen some pretty astonishing cars pop up now and again. In all that time, we've published these every other week. Well, enough of you have spoken up that we're going to try a weekly format, with two of us picking selections, so check back often. This week, thanks to considerable reader feedback, we've focused on some more "affordable" Porsches. These include a 924 Turbo that may or may not turn out to be a good buy for someone that likes to get their hands dirty, a reasonably priced 944 S2 Cabriolet, a 550 Spyder recreation worth every penny, ditto on a 356 speedster replica and a well priced 356 C driver. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

Did This Olympic Cyclist Really Just Win This Race? Or, Was it Staged?
When it comes to attracting viewers on television, networks and producers will go to great lengths. Take this segment of 60 Minutes Australia. In it, Olympic cyclist Anna Meares is challenged to a race by the show's host. The catch? She's on her bike and he's driving his Porsche Boxster.  Meares can accelerate from 30 kph to 60 kph in just 3 seconds. That's pretty damn fast.  The Boxster in question can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds.  However, what happens when the race isn't from a standstill and the competitor in question has all their torque instantly available? Watch the race for yourself and you judge? Was it fixed or was it real?

The Last Turn - A Permanent Scar
Rounding out our Indy theme, Leonard Turner dug deep into his archives to pull out the image above.  It's a lasting reminder that Porsche doesn't always triumph at the races.  In this 2nd and final post on Porsche's involvement at Indy, Leonard explains how Indy eventually became a "permanent scar" on Porsche's otherwise stellar racing record.

5 Factors That Go Into Porsche's 24 Hours of Le Mans Racing Strategy
In less than a week's time Porsche will be competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team has competed continually since the early 1950s, and this is their 3rd outing in the 919 Hybrid. While every year is important, this year is especially so as Porsche is both the current title defender and the leader in both the manufacturers' and drivers' classifications of the 2016 World Endurance Championship. In preparation for the race, Porsche relies on a team of masterful strategists to plan each move of the race much like a chess master would prepare for a match; playing 'what-if' scenarios over and over again. Here are the 5-factors they take into consideration each and every time

5-Minutes of Pure Porsche 718 RS 60 Hillclimb Bliss
A few weeks ago Petrolicious featured a video showcasing the connection between Porsche's new 718 and the original. They did so in their typical cinematic fashion and even recruited Porsche great Derek Bell to costar with the 718 RS that won the Targa Florio back in 1960. The video in this post has all the production values of the first but none of the scripting. Instead, it's just pure driving pleasure as Derek puts the 718 RS through its paces on a 5-minute hill climb. Enjoy!

Porsche's Classic Radio Navigation System Install & Review
We first learned about the Porsche Classic Navigation and Radio System a little over a year ago. Then, just recently, it finally came available for sale. Long time friend of the site, former Porsche Cars Canada employee and current Pfaff Automotive Marketing Manager, Laurance Yap, was one of the first to order one and he just installed it in his 993.  Read along in this post as he explains the pros and cons of the system and why he had to be one of the first to install one in his classic Porsche.

Porsche Stories From Around The Web
Despite our best efforts, it's not always possible for us to cover everything that's happening in the world of Porsche at any given time. It's almost as if the items worthy of note increase at some exponential rate as compared to the number of new Porsche owners and fans.  With that in mind, from time to time, we'll bring you a round-up of other Porsche related stories you might find of interest and link you to them.  If you read a story somewhere, or know of one you think might be of interest to our readers, please be sure to let us know by sending a tip to storyideas@flatsixes.com
