Please support our sponsors: How Does The 911R Compare to the 991 GT3 RS? Jack Olsen Drives Them Back to Back. Many readers of this site first "met" Jack Olsen after he, his Porsche and his garage were featured in a story on our site featuring an early Petrolicious video. And while Jack was
well known in the So Cal Porsche scene before that, he's gone on to become more of a "celebrity" lately thanks in part to the videos he continues to make and his recent participation in Porsche's "Driving Challenge" with the new 911R. While we've yet to meet Jack in person, we are "friends" on social media and he is a reader of FLATSIXES.com. With that in mind, we reached out last week to ask him about his experiences with Porsche and the 911R. As part of that conversation we
learned that Jack is one of the few people, outside of Porsche, who has driven both the GT3 RS and the new 911R back to back. You see, due to the process of filming the Driving Challenge videos Jack had quite a bit of "downtime". Porsche wanted to keep Jack entertained so they handed him the set of keys to a 991 GT3 RS and set him loose on their test track at Weissach. Who better than he to talk about how they compare. Here's what he had to say.

Our Favorite Porsches on eBay: Volume
48 You spoke, we listened. Enough of you have said how much you like this section that instead of publishing our eBay picks every other week, we're going to try a weekly format with two of us making the
picks. This week, we've tracked down five more exciting Porsches for you nice people to purchase today, including a low mileage 944 coupe, an affordable summer toy, a product of depreciation, a 911 Safari donor candidate, and a 356 Speedster someone of "regular" means could afford. Some of these cars could be great collection investments, while others might prove to do more financial harm than good.

"Phobos" For the space-uninitiated, Phobos is the name of the larger of Mars' two moon-like satellites. Phobos is relatively light as moons go, it orbits very close to Mars with a tighter turning radius, and it carries a
lot of speed through that turning circle, as it orbits Mars about once every 8-hours, deteriorating as it goes. So it would make sense that Carl Sagan would name his 914 after a natural satellite such as that, right? Much like Mars' Phobos, Sagan's 914 has deteriorated some after all these years of spinning around on the face of the earth. Regardless, it's for sale and can be yours if the price is right. Details in this post.

Since then we've seen three other production transaxle models, the 944, 928 and 968.
Now, in 2016, Porsche is celebrating that history with a special exhibit featuring examples of all four model lines (more than half of the exhibit is being shown for the first time). In this
post, we take a brief look back at the history of the transaxle at Porsche, their achievements and how they contributed to the Porsche we know today. OTHER POSTS YOU MAY ENJOY
