A Day With The Ingrams At One Porsche Drive

This past weekend was the first ever Cars and Coffee on the front plaza at One Porsche Drive in Atlanta.  In conjunction with this gathering was an invite only event in the Heritage Center featuring a panel that included Amelia Island Concours Founder and Chairman Bill Warner; legendary driver Vic Elford; Bob Ingram, the founder of the Collection; and son Cam Ingram, the co-owner of Road Scholars, a noted restoration firm, and in charge of management of the Collection. FLATSIXES.com contributors Betty Jo and Leonard Turner were there to capture the event.

This Hologram Might Just Be The Coolest Porsche Ad Ever
Is print dead? Are magazines irrelevant? Even as the publisher of a popular web-site, we don't think so. In our space, magazines like Excellence, Panorama, Total911, etc. all have their place. Besides their excellent aesthetic, they are great at delivering long form content that internet readers simply don't seem to have the attention span for. However, what they most definitely are not, is interactive! Porsche's newest advertisement looks to change that concept.

The Last Turn - Bob & Al Holbert - "A Bright Thread Running Through the Fabric of Porsche History in America"
The year of the image is 1989, the location Daytona.  The pilot of the famous #14 Porsche 962 on this day is not a young man, and the reason he is about to take the car onto the track is not a happy one. Porsche photographer Leonard Turner explains why in this installment of "The Last Turn".

Magnus Walker's Opus On The 6th Street Bridge
Back in January Magnus Walker used his social media presence to call together a gathering of enthusiasts to commemorate the closing of LA's iconic 6th street bridge. Fortunately for us, Frazer Spowart (of eGarage fame) was there to share the night with Magnus and he took the time to provide a first person account of what it was like to attend. Many of you wrote in saying how much you enjoyed our crowd sourced pictures and Frazer's story about the impromptu event. Well, earlier this week, Magnus published the video in this post on his newly developed YouTube channel. In it, he waxes poetic about the bridge that meant so much to him and his neighborhood. More importantly, you get to see video of the event itself, the car culture of LA, and the power of Magnus and his evolving social media empire.
Is This Porsche Panamera Hearse For Real?
Whenever we see a news story on April 1st we always approach it cautiously, regardless of its origin. So, when the picture above (and others like it) appeared on facebook, our first thought was, "Hey, that's a pretty good April Fools' joke and a reasonably well done photoshop job." After all, who's going to make a Porsche Panamera into a hearse? Well, apparently someone did, we think.  Read the story, check out the pictures, decide for yourself and weigh in with your opinion

Porsche Stories From Around The Web
Despite our best efforts, it's not always possible for us to cover everything that's happening in the world of Porsche at any given time. It's almost as if the items worthy of note increase at some exponential rate as compared to the number of new Porsche owners and fans.  With that in mind, from time to time, we'll bring you a round-up other Porsche related stories you might find of interest and link you to them.  If you read a story somewhere, or know of one you think might be of interest to our readers, please be sure to let us know by sending us a tip to storyideas@flatsixes.com
