A Number Of Porsches From The "Jerry Seinfeld Collection" Coming To Auction On Amelia Island
The fact that Jerry Seinfeld is one of the world's foremost Porsche afficianados and collectors is no big secret.  What is a secret to most, however, is exactly what Porsches he has within his collection. Next month we'll get a glimpse behind the curtain as Gooding and Co. is bringing a "small percentage" of Jerry's collection to auction on Amelia Island. The three Porsches in this post are but the first three to be announced. Here's what we know so far
"Our Return" - A Documentary of Porsche's Road To Le Mans Victory
Porsche's victory at Le Mans last season was their 17th overall. The journey to victory was 3-years in the making starting with a blank sheet of paper in 2012. The documentary featured in this post details those 3-years of development, preparation and effort on the road to victory. At nearly 1-hour long this film is no quick marketing clip. Instead, it's a deep dive into the development of the team, the 919 itself and what it takes to win at Le Mans. My suggestion, if you have the technology, cast this video to your smart TV in 1080p HD and watch it on a big screen with surround sound. It's worth it!
Would Be Porsche Buyer Wins £35k Judgement In Lawsuit Against Dealer Who Took Deposit and Sold GT3 RS to Someone Else
Porsche introduced their "VIP" program back when they hadn't yet sold all the production slots on the 918 Spyder.  As a Porsche VIP you get the right of first refusal on limited production models as well as priority ordering on regular production cars. In other words you get to the head of the line, before all others, because you bought a 918.  However, that program didn't exist when the would be buyer in this story placed a hefty deposit for a 4-liter GT3 RS, making this outcome that much more interesting.

The Last Turn - How To Paint Your Pictures With Light
It seems appropriate to offer a racing shot this time of year, as the sports car racing scene is about to undergo its annual rebirth at Daytona. Over the years, photographer Leonard Turner was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend many days (and nights) there, sometimes hot and sweaty but more often cold beyond belief. It is northern Florida, after all, and this time of the year is unpredictable. What is predictable, though, is that night follows day in this 24-hour race, and some of the more dramatic photography becomes available in the dark. In this installment of The Last Turn Leonard recounts some interesting history from the 1999 race and explains how this exquisite photo you see above was made

How This Porsche Thief Manages To Get Away After This Crash Is Unbelievable
I know the title of this post sounds like dreaded "click bait", but that's not the intent. You see, security cameras captured video of the violent end to a high speed police chase involving a stolen Porsche and a motorcycle cop.  It's amazing to me that not only did the guy who stole the Porsche live through the accident, he even managed to evade police, on foot, after crawling out of the wreckage. The video itself is a bit grainy, but you can see just how hard he hits the tree. The fact that he gets away is truly "unbelievable".
