Two weeks ago it was Mongolia, last week it was Australia and this week it's the French Alps. We're truly a global community at this point. Reader Dennis Ashmore sent us this picture of his Guards
Red 1985 Carrera 3.2 taken at Lac du Mont Cenis, near to the town of Lanslebourg in the French Alps, close to the Italian Border. He and his wife took a road trip this past September departing from their home in England and motoring down to Paris. Once in Paris they put their Porsche on the Autotrain to the South of France and continued from there, including a trip along the 'Route de Napoleon' (considered by many to be one of the best driving roads in the world). Dennis
said that all told their trip consisted of 1860 driving miles and that his Carrera ran faultlessly.

With the 991.2 model came a number of new options that were previously only available on
higher end 911s. Case in point, Porsche's front axle lift system. Because people are familiar with the option from Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, they incorrectly assume the system on the new 991.2 is exactly the same. They're not.
