Video: We Took One Of The First Ever Ride-Alongs In Porsche's Turbocharged 991.2
Once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, by their very nature, don't come around too often. This weekend, as a guest of Porsche's at Rennsport Reunion V, one of those opportunities presented itself when we were asked if we wanted to ride-along in the new 991.2 for a few laps around Laguna Seca.  As it turns out, we were one of the very first non-Porsche employees to get the opportunity.  Our driver? None other than August Achleitner - the man in charge of the 911 model line. What a ride!  Not only did we experience just how well the turbos work (can you say torque?) but August was kind enough to answer a number of burning technical questions for us, too.  Watch the video and see for yourself.
Pictures, Pricing & Info On The 911 Rennsport Reunion Edition
This new 911, based on the Carrera GTS, is the most limited production model that I can think of.  Launched this past weekend during Rennsport Reunion V it features equipment and options that are sure to make it a crowd pleaser.  Combine the equipment and performance with production numbers in the low double digits and you're looking at a very collectible Porsche.  Details are available here.

A Close Look At The History Of The Hotchkis Racing 962
Whenever a PR company sends you a link to a video, you need to ask yourself why? In this instance, it's turns out the subject of the video, a 962, is for sale. That doesn't mean the video isn't interesting, it is! Or, that the history of the car isn't fascinating, it is!  It's just that we like full disclosure. So, whether you're in the market for your very own Porsche 962 or not, read through the history of this 962 and check out the video they sent a long.  It's actually well done.
New Video Shows Piquet Crash From Even Scarier Angles
Did you see Pedro Piquet's crash last week? The one where his 911 GT3 Cup car rolled 9-time? If not, go check it out and them come back here.  Today's video is a compilation of on-board footage, from other 911s, showing just how incredible it was that Piquet survived with only very minor injuries.
Who Will Be Porsche's New CEO?
We all know Matthias Müller as the energetic and gregarious Chairman and CEO of Porsche AG.  Last week, he was called up to take the helm at Porsche's parent company, Volkswagen AG, in the wake of the diesel emissions cheating scandal that has rocked the company to its very foundation.  With Müller's attention focused elsewhere, who should be appointed to take over VW's most profitable unit?
Driving The Entire Porsche RS Lineage
We've always been of the opinion that there's a difference between an enthusiast and a collector. Enthusiasts tend to drive their Porsches while collectors tend to have garage queens. Obviously, that's an oversimplification, but it fits for most. Who it DOESN'T fit for, however, is Bob Ingram (the Ingram Collection) and his collection of incredible early and important Porsches. Join Bob and friends Chad McQueen, Nicolas Hunziker and Magnus Walker as they drive the entire lineage of legendary RS cars at VIR and along the backroads of North Carolina.
Our Huge Gallery of Photos From Rennsport Reunion V
We just spent 3 epic days as guests of Porsche at Rennsport Reunion V.  We were the third person ever, outside of Porsche employees, to get a ride in the new 991.2, we dined with Porsche's factory drivers and we feasted on everything there was to see.  We'll have lots of stories for you over the next week or two.  However, for now, enjoy our massive gallery of pictures from the best Rennsport Reunion yet in the following posts:

Reader Submitted Pictures
Reader John Cuny sent us the picture above showcasing his black Porsche 964 (nicknamed Darth) out enjoying the scenery in the Pacific Northwest.  John told us it was a perfect day, (no traffic, 60 degrees and 50 miles of visibility) to take his 964 on a 15-mile trip up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Forest. Looks like a beautiful spot for a gorgeous 911.

We want to thank everyone that has sent in pictures so far and we'll do our best to get them all published in time.   If you have a favorite Porsche picture (or video) you would like to share with other FLATSIXES.com readers simply email it to pictureoftheweek@flatsixes.com.
