Here's A List Of The Historical Porsches That Will Be At RRV
There's less than a week to go before the biggest event in the world of Porsche kicks off at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca; Rennsport Reunion V. Even with the event on the immediate horizon, details of what to expect (other than it will be spectacular) are still scarce. It's incredibly difficult to plan the logistics for an event like this so it's kind of understandable. Plus, Porsche wants to keep some cars as a surprise.  We reached out to a number of private collectors to see which of their Porsches we could expect to see at the event. Here's what we found out
Janis Joplin's Kaleidoscopic 356 Cabriolet For Sale
While it might not be the most valuable collector Porsche we know of, Janis Joplin's 356 Cabriolet is certainly one of the most recognizable.  This December 20th, RM Auctions/Sotheby's will roll this one-of-a-kind Porsche across their auction block in New York. Check out this post for details of the car, estimates and the auction itself.
Porsche's Pictures Video & Results In The WEC At Circuit Of The Americas
It was a double header weekend for Porsche with races in both the TUSCC and the WEC at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX.  As usual, we won't spoil things for you here, but once you click through you'll have Porsche's full race report, pictures and video highlights.  See how Porsche fared in the WEC in this post

The Last Turn - E Production
We know that sports car racing (and any motorsport for that matter) can be dangerous.  But how about Porsche photography?  Did you ever wonder how a photographer got that perfect Porsche picture?  Today's technology (digital cameras, camera cars, and photo manipulation software) makes things quite a bit less harrowing then they were in the past.  Take the image above.  Any idea how a shot like that was made? What about the 356 Speedsters it features. In this week's episode of "The Last Turn" Leonard Turner explains just what it took to capture these racing Speedsters when film was a photographer's only option and why so many "valuable" Speedsters were on the track together at the same time.
Magnus Walker's #277 Is Back On The Road
Barely 3-weeks ago the Porsche world was rocked (can the Porsche world really be rocked?) when news and video of Magnus, and his beloved #277, crashing into the back of a car transport went viral. Thankfully no one was hurt, but #277 took quite a hit.  Now, 21 days later, it looks like this

Reader Submitted Pictures
The picture above was taken this past summer in Danville National Cemetery where two of our reader John Kline's wife's uncles are buried. He tells us that both served in WWII.  One of them was a tank commander who served in 6 major campaigns in North Africa and Italy.  He also happened to be a car guy -although he never had a Porsche. John and his wife think he would be proud that he and his niece have one.  To this day, they still use a pair of German binoculars he brought back from his tour.  John tells us they were humbled by the beauty and the quiet found in Danville.

We want to thank everyone that has sent in pictures so far and we'll do our best to get them all published in time.   If you have a favorite Porsche picture (or video) you would like to share with other FLATSIXES.com readers simply email it to pictureoftheweek@flatsixes.com.

Reminder To Set Your DVR
We provided you with lots of coverage from the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion including pictures and auction results.  If it still wasn't enough, don't worry, there's more. This time it's a TV special on FOX Sports 1.  Here's info on the show and when to watch.
Porsche Pickup Truck Rendered
Yup, we've seen Porsche pickups before.  People have made them out of 914s, 928s and we've seen lots of renderings of others.  The one in this picture, however, is the first one we've seen, in five years, from the hands of well known automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin (he's the same person that brought us the Cayvan).  Check out the details on this one in this post.

How Could Anyone Walk Away From This Horrific Crash?
I flinch at almost every crash I see in motorsports, but some are just worse than others.  Case in point, this crash of a 911 GT3 Cup driven by Pedro Piquet during last weekend's GT3 Cup Challenge in Brazil.  His 911 flips an amazing 9-times before landing on its tires in a ruined mess
