GTS - The 3 Most Exciting Letters In Porsche Motorsport
Porsche engineers built the original Gran Turismo Sport for the 1964 Targa Florio. In the 60's, many races took place on public roads and covered long distances. As a result, the engineers from Zuffenhausen
needed a Porsche that was fast, comfortable and safe; allowing the drivers to completely focus on the race. The GTS was the answer. Fast forward 50 years or so and Porsche invited us back to their new Experience Center in Atlanta (the PEC) to play with and drive the entire 2015 GTS line-up at the new Experience Center in Atlanta. Not only did we get a great perspective on the cars, it gave us another chance to experience all the different driving modules the PEC has to offer. Here's how our day went. How Long Will Porsche Continue To Race The 919 In The WEC?
Porsche's Chairman, Matthias Müller, has said that "Motorsport is an important part of Porsche's brand identity - but not an end in itself." What he meant is that not only does Porsche need to win,
they need to create technology that will transfer to production cars. With that in mind, Porsche needed to make a decision about the future of the 919 program. Here's what they
decided. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy!

At first glance you might stop and think, there's nothing special about the picture above, why is it the picture of the week? While it may not be the most glamorous shot, it is one of our favorites as
it depicts a Porsche that's driven and driven a lot. Readers Steve and Danielle Cernik told us that they started and ended their trip in Phoenix, AZ. In between, over the course of 4100 miles (on two lane back roads as much as possible), they went up through the Four Corners region, the mountainous back roads of Colorado, the Nebraska Sand Hills to Omaha, down to Corpus Christi on the Texas Gulf Coast, back past the Very Large Array in New Mexico and then back to Phoenix. Now that's a road
trip.!
We want to thank everyone that has sent in pictures so far and we'll do our best to get them all published in time. If you have a favorite Porsche picture (or video) you would like to share with other FLATSIXES.com readers simply email it to pictureoftheweek@flatsixes.com. Project Boxster Clubsport: Part 9
Since the advent of Porsche's line of ClubSport models, part of the recipe has been a radio delete option. I like the idea of that, but at the same time I really like listening to music in the car. Project Boxster Clubsport does get drafted into daily commuter roles pretty often, so being able to listen to music is still preferred. So how do you drop a few pounds from the car while still retaining the option to listen to music? Well, as
it turns out, the stock audio equipment is somewhat complicated and unnecessarily heavy, not to mention outdated and less than optimal for actually listening to music. Here's how we lightened things up
some. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy!
