Is Spain Home To The Greatest Driving Road In The World? Porsche Boxster GTS on Majorca
|
Located in the Mediterranean Sea, Spain's Majorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands archipelago. Amongst other things, it's home to Cap de Formentor (a small mountain located on the northernmost point
of the island). What makes Cap de Formentor special for us Porsche lovers is the 8.4 mile long road which runs from Port de Pollença to the summit and its lighthouse. Built by the Italian engineer Antonio Parietti the road is known by tourist and cyclists the world over for its twist, turns and incredible vistas. But it's not Parietti's most famous road. This is. Reader Submitted
Pictures
|
This week's reader submitted photo comes way of VFW Post 915 in Central Square, New York. Reader William
Noroski told us that he's owned his '58 356 since 1963. Not only does his Porsche still wear its original paint, it hasn't been restored in anyway. Photographed here with the North American F-86 Fighter, the two look like they belong together. Bill tells us that the F-86 entered service in 1949 and is still considered one of the greatest fighter aircraft of all time. How appropriate to have its picture taken with one of the greatest sports cars of all
time.
We want to thank everyone that has sent in pictures so far and we'll do our best to get them all published in time. What Would You Do If You Caught Someone Vandalizing Your Porsche?

Imagine you're at home, your Porsche parked "safely" in your driveway when suddenly you notice someone paying the wrong kind of attention to your
Porsche. Now imagine they start to vandalize your Porsche. What would you do? Watch the video in this post, it gets a lot worse than what you see in the screen shot above. My guess is you'll think Capital
punishment might be too lenient. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy!

A Wolf
in Wolf's Clothing
|
Some Porsche's are more infamous than others and this might just be my favorite "The Last Turn" story yet. This is the first time I've ever heard
of one type of a Porsche, in this instance a 936, being entered into a race as another type of Porsche (a 908) in an effort to not offend other racers. Leonard Turner gives the full story of this Wolf in Wolf's clothing, in this week's edition of "The Last
Turn". Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy!
