This is the "Dezerator": The Fully Functional Car Lift System To Be Installed In The Porsche Design Tower
The 60-story Porsche Design Tower in Miami doesn't open until sometime in 2016. However, there are only 8 units remaining priced between $6.3 million and $32.5 million.  One of the design features of Miami's newest luxury hi-rise that makes it so desirable are its "Sky Garages". This feature allows owners to park their cars (presumably a Porsche) on the same level as their unit and with incredible views.  Until now, we've only seen artist renderings of how the lift system would work.  Now, with this video, we see the real elevator (the "Dezerator", named after the building's developer) in action via a 9-story mock-up at the manufacturer's headquarters in Chicago.
Porsche Opens Their Newest Experience Center In Le Mans
France may not be Porsche's largest European market, but when you get a chance to build a customer experience center along the most storied track in the world (and home to a place Porsche has more victories than any other manufacturer) you don't quibble.  This past weekend, as the 24 Hours of Le Mans was gearing up for another memborable run, Porsche marked the grand opening of their newest experience center alongside the track at Le Mans.  Details and video in this post.

Picture Of The Week
Last week we spent the day with talented FLATSIXES.com photographer Mike Juergens.  Our quest for the day was to photgraph our current press car, the new 911 Targa 4S, against some of its predecessors.  In order to get our hands on some of the older cars we traveled to Sloan Cars' showroom in Connecticut.  We meant to fill this space with pictures of the Targa, but we liked the above shot so much we had to share (more on the Targa next week).  If you have a favorite Porsche picture you would like to share with other FLATSIXES.com readers simply email it to pictureoftheweek@flatsixes.com.

The Last Turn: Engineers
Every other week "The Last Turn" features one amazing photograph after the other from the archives of legendary Porsche photographer Leonard Turner.  Each photo is accompanied by a story explaining where Leonard was and what was happening at the time the photo was made.  In this week's installment Leonard explains why this picture of Porsche's then Director of Research and Development (now heads up Bentley and Bugatti), Wolfgang Dürheimer, is one of his favorite "racing" shots.

Video Gamers Rejoice! Porsche Is Returning To Forza 2
Gamers have been complaining for years about EA's lock on the rights to using Porsches in video games. Was it a bad deal?  Does someone at EA have some dirt on someone at Porsche? We don't know and don't really care we're just excited to see that Porsche is coming back to Forza after a very long lapse.  Here are the 10 Porsches available via the new expansion pack, along with the extras, where to get it and what it costs.
Did You Wish Porsche Legend Vic Elford A Happy Birthday?
Last week, on June 10th, Porsche racing legend Vic Elford turned 80 years old.  If you didn't wish him a Happy Birthday, you can do so on his facebook page.  Alternatively, if you want to learn why 'Quick' Vic is such a racing legend, you can check out some of his accomplishments in this post or watch as he's inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame.
Would You Believe That Half Of This 911 RSR Is Made From 380,000 LEGO Bricks?
If you've read FLATSIXES.com for any time at all, you know our fascination with anything LEGO + Porsche related. While this is obviously a marketing stunt for the Porsche Speed Champion set from LEGO, it's one so well done and flawlessly executed, that we don't even mind that their Jedi mind tricks are making pushing us toward the dark side of  purchasing yet another set of these. Check out the video and details of this display found at Le Mans this past weekend.
