10 Porsche Technologies That Transferred From The Race Track To The Road
Much of the technology that ends up in a production Porsche begins its life in Porsche race cars on tracks around the world. Over time, the technology that helps Porsche to be faster and safer on the track finds its way into the cars we drive on the street.  In this post we take a look at 10 such pieces of Porsche tech and explore when they first debuted on track, what the technology does and when it transferred into production.
Nissan 350Z Challenges Porsche 911 GT3. You Won't Believe What Beats Them Both
Street racing is never a smart idea, but some parts of the German autobahn still have unrestricted speed limits and the roads in this video appear to be just that.  Watch as an the unsuspecting driver of a Porsche 911 GT3 is overtaken by a supercharged Nissan 350Z, then comes back from behind into the lead only to be overtaken by the most surprising of all challengers.  I laugh every time I watch this video.
Project Boxster Clubsport: Part 7 - Lightweight Batteries
When we bought our Boxster the intent was to turn it into a lightweight "clubsport" version for track and autocross.  To do that, we need to strip weight in an effort to increase our overall power to weight ratio.  Our first few posts focused on cleaning up the looks of our Boxster (afterall we're still driving it around), but now we've completed a GT3 style center console delete in an effort to save weight and this month we lose another 38 lbs through a simple battery swap. Details on the battery we chose, why we chose it and how it works in our latest Project Boxster Clubsport update.

The Last Turn: A Very Good Year
Every other week "The Last Turn" features one amazing photograph after the other from the archives of legendary Porsche photographer Leonard Turner.  Each photo is accompanied by a story explaining where Leonard was and what was happening at the time the photo was made.  In this week's installment Leonard explains what made 1970 such a good year for Porsche at Daytona and how car #1 and Jo Siffert (pictured above) added a dramatic ending to an already superb race.

Our Tour Of European Collectibles
Earlier this year, while in the Los Angeles area for the Vintage VW and Porsche Literature, Toy, and Memorabilia Swap Meet, we sent a message to a colleague of ours in the Porsche business to see if they wouldn't mind us stopping by the shop for a semi-private tour. I'm always blown away by their inventory, and the quality of their restorations. This time was no different.
