The 914s Of Amelia Island In Pictures
|
Many of you are familiar with the beauty of Leonard Turner's Porsche photography via his decades as the principal photographer for Panorama Magazine and his current contributions to this site via "The Last Turn". Leonard's young
grandson, TJ Kessler, is a photographer himself and it's obvious from these photos that he's paid close attention anytime his grandfather handed down advice. This is the 3rd year that TJ photographed the Porsches of Amelia Island
for us and his work continues to improve year after year. Check out all of TJ's photos in this post featuring the 914s at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy!
The LA Lit And Toy Show Is All That And So Much More

If you've never been to the LA Lit and Toy Show it's something, as a Porsche fan, you need to see to believe. Each year it gets bigger and bigger and this year was the biggest yet. Some make a four day weekend of it and even doing that
you're hard pressed to see everything. We spent three days this year and this is the first of a number of stories that came from our time there. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll

When we first started "The Last Turn" we told Leonard he could pick and choose the photos from his archives as he wanted. We never know from week to week what we're going to get or why. Part of that changed this week when I saw
Leonard's contribution above. For once I knew why he chose this particular photo. You see, John and I had the good fortune to dine with Betty Jo and Leonard during their visit to the Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance. Over dinner the conversation turned to the Porsche 904. More specifically, we talked about the 904 Leonard owned. While we talked a lot about what made this particular Porsche so much fun, we never did get around to learning its history or how he and Betty
Jo came to acquire it. With this week's episode of The Last Turn we learn all that and more. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy!

Here's A List Of What Every Porsche Sold For During The Amelia Island Auctions
|
The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance may only be a one day show, but the additional shows, seminars, auctions and other happenings associated with, and surrounding, the event take over the island for four whole days. One of our favorite
things to do is attend the auctions (both the previews and the bidding). This year, the list of auction houses grew to four with the addition of Bonhams and Hollywood Wheels. Between them all there were more than $10,000,000 in Porsche sales. You can find a list of what what
did and didn't sell, and for how much, in this post. Related Porsche Blog Posts You'll Enjoy! |
